What students are going to cover

In this lesson, students will explore how to catch up with someone after a long time while mastering all four perfect tenses in one authentic English lesson plan. They will analyse a dialogue between two former colleagues meeting after three years, discover the rules for the present perfect simple and continuous and the past perfect simple and continuous, and practise them through guided discovery, contrast exercises, and a gap-filled voice message. They will build natural vocabulary for reconnecting, such as It's been ages and I've been meaning to call you, before role-playing their own catch-up conversation and telling the story of a big life change in three tenses. By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to describe recent activities, report completed changes, and explain the background to past decisions using accurate and natural English.
