What students are going to cover
In this lesson, students will learn how to order lunch in English at a café or canteen and deal with a wrong order. They read the Corner Canteen menu, sort twelve food words into countable and uncountable and try ordering with no help. In two model dialogues, Maya orders a wrap without onion, to go and Leo politely reports a wrong sandwich and asks about nuts. Students complete an order ticket, answer six true-or-false statements and find the key phrases. A language bank sorted by function leads into an eight-item a / an / some gap-fill, six Is there / Are there questions and a make-it-polite rewriting task, then students correct eight mistakes in Dan’s order. The hot task is a role-play with three customer cards (allergy, no onion, to go) and a secret Server Card. Homework is an eleven-gap dialogue from memory plus a written dialogue or 60-second voice message. The package adds a teacher version, a fillable PDF, slides and 46 flashcards and speaking cards. By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to order a meal and a drink politely, ask whether a dish contains an ingredient, and politely report a mistake with their order.
