What students are going to cover

In this lesson, students will explore what it feels like to live away from home through the Easy English 40 video Have you ever lived abroad?, a set of street interviews about moving to a new country, missing family and feeling at home. They will build vocabulary related to living abroad and homesickness in a nine-item matching task and a nine-sentence gap-fill, then strengthen listening skills with an eight-question video quiz and seven discussion questions. In the grammar stage of this A2 present perfect English lesson plan, students study the positive, negative and question forms with ever and never and complete ten sentences such as Have you ever felt homesick?. A speaking stage asks six Have you ever...? questions, and the homework is a short piece of writing about a place or about what home means. The package also includes flashcards, speaking cards and slides. By the end of the lesson, learners will be able to ask and answer Have you ever...? questions, describe a move abroad with nine topic words, and write three to four sentences about their own experiences in the present perfect.
