First Conditional

Get 64 first conditional speaking cards for A2-B1 learners that take adult students from the basic pattern if + present simple, will + verb to real conversations about their plans, problems and decisions - If it rains, I'll stay at home, What will you do if…?, I'll probably…, I might…, OK, but only if…, unless, as soon as.

• Finish first conditional sentences with sixteen A2 sentence starters such as If it rains at the weekend, …, If my phone battery dies today, … and If I'm late for work tomorrow, …; each card gives the grammar pattern and a talk task about the student's own life, with no ready-made answers.
• Answer What will you do if…? questions on sixteen A2-B1 topics, from a free weekend, a week off and money left at the end of the month to working late, a cancelled flight and good news, with a follow-up on every card and a quick reference on showing certainty with definitely, probably and might.
• Use the first conditional in real-life situations with sixteen B1 role-plays for making deals, promises, warnings, offers and requests: leaving work early, warning a colleague about an email, a worried client, a job interview for a hotel receptionist, working from home, a party at home, borrowing a friend's car, a messy flatmate and a return without a receipt; eleven cards add a teacher twist the student must react to, and there is no model answer on the card.
• Make decisions with the first conditional with sixteen A2-B1 this-or-that cards: bus or taxi, a new or second-hand bike, repair a broken phone or buy a new one, a job in a big city or a small town, tell a friend the truth or be kind; the student says what will happen with option A and option B, compares the results and decides, and every card has a follow-up question.
